Karen Roughton has been a member of The Artery for ten years. She has been making art for over thirty-five years. Her paintings and drawings on display involve various media including: charcoal, acrylic paint, graphite, markers, and colored pencils. She also teaches drawing and design at American River College.

She has been an active member of the Davis art community serving on the Davis Art Center Board, Davis Schools Arts Foundation and as an Arts Commissioner and Chair to the Davis City Council. She has also been awarded an Art in Schools Grant from the City of Davis.
