2012 CALIFORNIA CLAY COMPETITION
The 23rd Annual CALIFORNIA CLAY COMPETITION EXHIBIT is sponsored by The Artery and held in conjunction with the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art (sponsored by the John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis).

Location: The Artery, 207 G Street, Davis, CA 95616
Hours: Monday-Saturday 10-6, Friday until 9 p P.M.
Awards: Monetary and gift awards will be announced at the opening reception at the Artery, Friday, April 27, 2012, 7-9 p.m.
Juror: We are delighted and honored to have Tony Natsoulas as our juror this year. Tony has been working as a professional artist in ceramic sculpture since 1985. His main interest is in large scale humorous figurative ceramic sculpture. In undergraduate and graduate school, he was fortunate to have studied at the University of California, Davis' TB9 ceramic studio with the artist that put figurative ceramic sculpture on the map, Robert Arneson. Since then, Tony has shown his work in galleries and museums around the world and he as been commissioned to do several public and private sculptures in bronze, fiberglass and ceramic.
The Artery, home of the Artists’ Cooperative of Davis, has sponsored the Competition since 1990 to give California ceramic artists an opportunity to display their work during the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art. The competition is open to all living California artists. Works accepted must be for sale,
available for the duration of the exhibit, and made within the last two years.
