Nila Hordiichuk
Beaded Jewelry and Resin
My name is Nila Hordiichuk. I am from Ukraine. I was born in 1983. I have a family, a husband and three wonderful sons.
As long as I can remember, I always liked to create things with my hands. It was beads and bead jewelry that I became interested in after the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
It was because of the war that I came to America with my family. We moved to Davis in 2024.
The jewelry I create is part of the traditional Ukrainian cultural heritage.
For me, this is an opportunity to keep in touch with my Motherland. And it's also an opportunity to share a part of Ukrainian culture with Americans. This is my way of thanking you for your support and help to Ukraine.
I would like to introduce a collection of Functional Resin Art as a new direction in my creative practice. My work explores the fluid beauty of epoxy resin through 'ocean waves' with realistic foam textures and botanical-inspired 'petal' effects. By creating decorative pieces like clocks and coasters, I aim to bring art into everyday life, combining deep pigments with delicate gold leaf accents to create elegant, one-of-a-kind interior accents for the gallery's display.
