Livia Kerr is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist inspired by the quiet rhythms and raw beauty of nature. Originally from Bucharest, Romania, she now lives and works in the Gold Country foothills of Northern California.

Her work spans both 3D and 2D forms, including earth-inspired sculptural mosaics, micro-mosaic jewelry, and paintings that range from landscapes to florals and abstract compositions, together forming a diverse yet cohesive body of work.

Nature sits at the core of Livia’s creative process, guiding an intuitive exploration of color and texture as expressive elements in their own right. Her artistic journey has always been hands-on and instinctive. Working with a wide range of materials, she allows each piece to unfold organically through experimentation and trust in the creative process.

Her paintings are emotionally driven and process-oriented. Working in oils and acrylics with mixed media such as cold wax, metallic foils and modeling paste, Livia explores texture, light, and movement. She often strips away literal references, allowing color and form to emerge as the central subjects translating mood, memory, and the essence of a landscape into powerful visual language.

Her mosaics are composed of natural elements like weathered slate, river stones, pottery shards, seashells, and driftwood, to name a few, collected during walks along California’s coasts and forests. In the studio, these materials are transformed into sculptural arrangements that echo nature’s cycles of change and resilience. Her micro-mosaic jewelry features Italian smalti, gemstones, and hand-pulled glass rods, delicately composed to evoke the balance and spontaneity found in the natural world.

Livia Kerr’s art invites viewers to slow down, observe, feel and reconnect with the elemental - stone, light, wind, water - and with the emotional landscapes we carry within. Each piece, whether mosaic or painting, offers a quiet moment of reflection and a tactile link to the natural world.
