Lamia Alazzawi

I am Lamia, the artist at Moorish Trends! I design and handcraft paper earrings that redefine artistic expressions with unique creations that evoke fashion. My earrings are a beautiful fusion of geometric Arabesque patterns, delicate filigreework and ornate Andalucian –Moorish architecture.

These designs bring a global sophistication and a timeless historical charm to contemporary wardrobes. My LIGHTWEJGHT designs are a blend of sustainability, feather light comfort without the heavy metal pull on the earlobe, and artisan detail.

 These culturally inspired creations are drawn from historical geometric Arabesque-Zdtige tile motifs or Oriental textiles.

My love for travel combined with fashion are the inspiration behind my creations. I design and handcraft all the earrings available on the website, in my artisan studio located in Davis California.

The artisan handcrafted earrings are inspired by historical geometric Arabesque Zellige tiles, motifs, and textiles found throughout Spain, Turkey, and the Middle East- where I grew up as a child and traveled throughout the years. I was always enthralled with the beauty of these patterns and their colors for they captivated my eyes.

Each earring is created for every special person that has crossed paths with me throughout my journey in life, and I want to honor each individual with a unique created earring design that carries their name.

All the materials used to create the earrings are sustainable and are featherlight to the earlobe.
