Amina Harris

Amina Harris has always designed and made things. Clothing, puppets, beaded flowers and, for the past twenty years, jewelry. And, she has always admired the arts and crafts of the world studying them in college, searching out antiques stores and browsing museums, and eventually traveling and learning first hand. This series brings together all these elements, with a very direct influence from a recent trip to Morocco. Intriguing artifacts, some ancient - many newer, are melded together as she bridges the centuries honoring the artisans of the past by making something contemporary and new.

Patti Harris

Patti Harris is a mixed media/assemblage artist who lives in Buffalo, NY. She is inspired by industrial design, natural materials and vintage objects. Putting a variety of materials together, in old boxes, in frames, in and on foundry patterns and old wood typifies much of her work. Whether creating a collage or assemblage, she generally uses old parts that have stood the test of time; as in metal vs. plastic, wood vs. veneer, stone vs. acrylic.

For Patti, it is all about the visual impact. Materials are somewhat ambiguous in meaning, but arranged in a well-designed manner. The objects chosen often don't routinely 'go together'- the resulting work necessitates thought on the viewer's part.

Shoshana Zeldner

Shoshana Zeldner's sculpture centers around the body: our relationship to it and the emotions that test its boundaries. She believes that while our bodies are contained, the feelings and experiences we have within are infinite. Sometimes they are so large or significant that they take up space beyond the boundary of our skin. Shoshana's artwork explores this relationship between the body and all the invisible and subtle experiences that take place within it. Shoshana has studied sculpture and ceramics at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, Brandeis University and the University of Oregon.
