Gross’s oil paintings of northern California from aerial and ground perspectives can best be described as idealistic realism. Through a rearrangement of the objects along with a deliberate balancing act of colors, his compositions invite you to take a deeper look at the places you already know. “I want you to have an overwhelming feeling that with the next step you will suddenly be right in the painting, breathing in the lusciousness of our latitude.”
Gross’s works are widely collected throughout Northern California by both the private and public sectors.
