Surge

An Exploson of Art

July 3–27, 2026
Reception, July 10, 2026

Surge brings together a dynamic collection of wood carvings, ceramic sculptures, bold abstracts, portraits, and expressive paintings. United by themes of movement, transformation, and creative energy, the works explore the forces that shape our experiences and connect us to one another.

Through texture, color, form, and emotion, Surge celebrates the power of artistic expression andthe ever-changing currents that inspire growth, reflection, and discovery.

Thelma Wetherford

My artwork is influenced by the textures found in nature and the environment, including the patina of buildings and other structures. These textures translate into my paintings through oil and cold wax as well as encaustics.

With oil and cold wax, I mix pigment with wax and apply layer upon layer with a brayer, paint scraper, and many other tools.

With encaustics, I heat a mixture of pigment, beeswax, and damar resin and apply it to a prepared stable surface. I then fuse the application to this surface with a heat gun or torch.

Shannon Moore

Working with carved wood or clay, Shannon Moore creates figurative work that explores the complexities of the human condition and our relationship with the natural world. Using art as a way to express and make sense of the world around her, Moore draws from both imagined and remembered stories. Rooted in a love of humanity and all of nature, her work explores themes of connection, vulnerability, wonder, and belonging. Through her intuitive process, she invites viewers to bring their own experiences to the work and discover narratives of their own.

Robin Lynde’s handwoven textiles, ranging from vibrant wraps to refined home goods, demonstrate a sophisticated command of color, pattern, and structure. Her work reflects a deep engagement with the tactile qualities of fiber and the visual harmony created through intentional color relationships.

Daniela Lares

My interest in depicting the human form comes from forming relationships, I enjoy painting faces I know. Whether I'm on a 15 minute timer for a client or a 2 hour long sit, talking with a subject and knowing the brain behind the face is a true pleasure, and inspires every brushstroke.
